Therese Hasham - Art
Therese's introduction to Asian Art began in Hong Kong while working in her former profession as a cabaret dancer. She spent three years performing in Honk Kong and the Philippines. A few years later she moved back to Hong Kong with her husband and young children, living there for a further five years. During this time she travelled extensively throughout South East Asia discovering and enjoying so much that Asian art and culture have to offer.
It was during this time that she studied Chinese Brush painting from her teacher who had studied under the guidance of the late Professor Chang Dai-chien, one of China's most renowned artists. Therese exhibited in Hong Kong during her time there and now works on consignment when time permits.
She has been teaching for over twenty years here at SGSCC and gains so much pleasure seeing her students becoming involved, appreciating and enjoying this specialised art which can remain a long lasting hobby.
